5 Yoga & Meditation Practices To Reduce Anxiety

Although we do meditations for healing and meditations for anxiety, we do not get the greatest benefits from meditating when we have anxiety. When seeking answers through meditation we must be operating at high levels. When we have anxiety we are not. The best way to reduce anxiety is to slow down, rest and sleep. Here are five other practices you should do when you suffer from anxiety:

#1 Watch A High-Vibrational Or Insightful Movie Or Documentary

This is a healing meditation practice that I highly recommend and it is most definitely is a meditation for anxiety by resting parts of the mind. Sometimes, after watching something that kept your attention and was very enjoyable, you feel like you just got in a good nap and you are at peace.

Of course, the goal is to stay in powerful states, where we don't need to do this often and we can spend our time creating and learning, but after a full day of hard labor, a long hike or a good training session, this is what you will find me doing. THEN GO TO BED.

#2 Take A Long Bath Or Shower

There is no greater way to cleanse the self-inflicted worries of the past or concerns of the future and learn that it is us that causes much destruction through our own thoughts and choices.

Envision all that does not serve you being rinsed off and sent down into the drain. Allow the weight of the water to ground and secure you back to the earth and add a layer of protection from negative energy. Do this healing meditation practice THEN GO TO BED.

#3 Retreat & Call It Quits For The Day

This is a very important practice and meditation for anxiety that we all much incorporate into out daily routine. Yes, every day! Too many people blame not being able to shut off their brain on many of their healing problems. If you do not master this skill, you will have a life of suffering.

You must understand that shutting off the brain is a choice. And most importantly, you must understand that when you have been exhausted, it is not even worth attempting to use your brain to solve problems or be creative. You must give up for the day and know that tomorrow, after getting good sleep and healing, you have a much greater chance of solving your problems and creating. GO TO BED.

#4 MOVE

If the anxiety isn't from exhaustion, it is probably from stagnation. There is nothing more soothing than being in a meditative trace while dancing, and there is nothing more beautiful than seeing someone do so. Stagnation is a huge contributor to anxiety, especially if you are indoors frying under artificial lights and staring at screens. Qigong and yoga are other great practices to get your body moving. Kundalini yoga is the best healing meditation. We do this at the beginning of every "Awakening Session" and I will be releasing videos soon.
